Sigma Tau Delta and Members Recognized!

Student Involvement and Leadership Awards |

 

At the Student Involvement and Leadership Awards Ceremony for 2007-2008, Sigma Tau Delta won Outstanding Program of the Year for the Fall Funky Formal and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Civic Engagement!!!! Hailey Praught was also awarded the Unsung Hero Award, and Lalania Seeders was the recipient of the VIVA Award, as well as the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Hailey Praught and Crystal Kelly were also both recognized earlier that night for being on the Chancellor's List. Great job everyone!!!

    • Our chapter has been recognized by the international Sigma Tau Delta headquarters as one of the most outstanding active new chapters in the nation!! We have been invited to present an exhibit at the annual International Sigma Tau Delta Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, March 5 - 8, at which our former treasurer, Michaela Doherty, will represent us.

    • On September 21, the CAC was filled with funkily-dressed people dancing to funky music all night long, all for a good cause. The interclub event raised over $800 for Habitat for Humanity. Read all about it in Stephen Janes's article for the October 1 edition of The Crow's Nest.

    • Our fundraiser to help send Michaela Doherty to the Sigma Tau Delta convention was so successful that we raised $409 in just 3 days! Thank you everyone who helped sell or who donated!!

 

 

 

    • Introducing Sigma Tau Delta - Alpha Xi Phi to new students.

 

 

 

    • This year's colloquium, led by the awesome Hailey Praught, again showcased USFSP's amazingly talented writers in all academic fields. We were honored to have our panels led by fellow students, professors, and administrators, as well as our regional chancellor, Dr. Karen White. Works ranged from critical papers about Frankenstein and Beowulf to original poetry and short stories. Refreshments were kindly brought to us by Crystal Kelly. Great work everyone and thank you for all your hard work!!
